This limited edition set of 8 postcards documents one of the artist’s large scale series of drawings. The book comes with it’s own ‘veil’ echoing it’s title and each postcard can be detached from the spine to be used separately. The original works depict Marlene Dietrich using a sledgehammer to destroy a life-size sculpture of herself, made by an ex-lover. The character of Lily, played by Dietrich in the 1933 film, The Song of Songs is provoked to the extreme, obliterating this physical embodiment of herself as the innocent, un-compromised young woman she once was.
Presented in a black envelope, the postcard book comes with its very own veil. This beautiful set makes the perfect gift.
